Recently, Martini On Heels attended the preview of Zariin’s fall 2016 collection, and they showcased their new collection- Sultana through their campaign #imperfectlyme (all bodies are beautiful). Zariin Jewellery collaborated with Jia Singh and last month organized a small get together at Devang House in Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi. The event was called- Body Positivity, and the idea of this concept was aimed at encouraging women to be confident about their body and stop body shaming. For this great well thought event, 18 women from all walks of life came together and shared their personal struggles, and stories. They shared how they overcame those hindrances in their mind to lead a successful life they are happily living now. Jiya Singh shared her thoughts, “I have always been preoccupied with eating healthy, and exercising diligently until that too much of a good thing could also be bad for you. It took me a while to fine tune the balance so I could eat mindfully, indulge without guilt, and enjoy everything without having to worry about the repercussions later. I’ve learnt to love my body and cherish it for what I have rather than picking on imperfections. I don’t have a thigh gap and I’m not built like a model. I have fine lines, short legs and strong arms, and yet that doesn’t stop me from putting on a swimsuit at every chance I get. Life’s too bloody short to compare yourself. So go ahead, put on that swimsuit and embrace that body. I’m going to start by being #bodypositive and I hope you’ll join me.” Jia was the main driving force behind the campaign and Vidhi Gupta, Karishma Bedi, Urvashi Kumar, Mamta Gupta, and Karuna Ezara Parikh were other few names amongst 18 wonderful women who joined this beautiful campaign with her.
Women these days are extremely conscious about how they look which keeps them from leading a normal life. The idea of the event was to bring together a group of women who were all confident in their skin, and at the same time, they didn’t shy away to share their personal wonderful stories. The event was an ode to womanhood and the idea was to tell women that they should happily embrace their imperfections and not fret too much. To represent the notion that all bodies are beautiful, the hashtag #imperfectlyme was propagated on Zariin’s social media and at the event. Kudos to you ladies! You truly are an inspiration for so many. The event was organised by Devang House who laid a wonderful menu of organic bites and herbal teas. Thank you for having Martini On Heels at your event Zarriin! It was an absolute pleasure to be there.
